A roller die cutter is the most common method of cutting apart packaged skin sheets. After the plastic is applied to the entire face of the sheet of board in the skin pack machine, the board is placed on a steel rule cutting die. The die, board and a polyproelyne plate are run through the die cutter. The two rollers press this "sandwich" together, when it emerges from the rollers, the knife die has cut apart the cards, rounded the corners, and cut the hangholes.
What would take several minutes to cut by hand is reduced to seconds using a die cutter.
